I just realized that I’ve been writing about different restaurants without explaining my personal rating system. I check three things: food, atmosphere and service and use stars or macarons (as the Michelin team call them) to rate the restaurants – 5 being the best and 1 being the worst. Here’s a mini guide to figuring out what those stars mean.

**** Worth the hype
*** Good enough
** Not bad
* Avoid at all costs
