Travels with a Gourmet

a food lover's travels, memorable meals, culinary trials and gastronomic experiences

When we were in Portugal a few weeks ago, we were given a jar of Quinta do Negrao Rosemary Tea jelly to take home. We recently tried this jam with pork and it was really good then we had it with lamb as well and it was even better. The sweetness of the jelly flavoured with the rosemary is a great complement to roast meat. In Europe, these condiments are usually made by smaller artisanal-style places although England has some great brands like Tiptree which make savoury relishes and jellies. There are similar jams and jellies (like red pepper jelly and roasted garlic and onion jam) made by Stonewall Kitchens in the U.S. which are excellent and available in Williams-Sonoma and in smaller gourmet kitchen stores.
