Travels with a Gourmet

a food lover's travels, memorable meals, culinary trials and gastronomic experiences

We’re off to Las Vegas for the holidays so the next two days will be spent frantically packing and getting everything ready.  It will be a family Christmas with my sisters, who live there, and my mom who will be there visiting from back home.

While we’re in the States, A & I are going off for a weekend a deux to San Francisco where we’ve already booked some fantastic restaurants and organized a day trip to our second favorite place (after Paris) – Napa valley.  I’m looking forward to visiting the Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market and to dinner at Chez Panisse. We’ve also managed to squeeze in brunch at Thomas Keller’s newest restaurant ad hoc in Yountville.

In Vegas, we’ll be visiting old favorites like Raku, Bouchon and The Original Pancake House (to name a few) and might try a typical Vegas buffet or one of the very new restaurants at the recently-opened City Center complex.   Not to mention, we’ll be cooking the dinner for Christmas Eve as well as Christmas Day brunch so the next few weeks are going to be busy.  Happy Holidays!!!

  1. Thanks Tim but unfortunately we had to fly back home as we were refused boarding in London because our passports were not biometric. Can you believe it?!!!! Next time then.
